PLEASE vote for me!

Hi Faithful blog readers! This is a "self portrait"
I did last semester in school for the subject of "secrets"

The significance of the secret is that I had a twin who
died before birth due to the doctor not taking my mom
serious when she complained of early pain.I never found out about this until I graduated from
high school and an elderly aunt let it slip while visiting the
summer after in Alabama at a family reunion .
It is something I rarely talk about as well... too sad

In this class we used Holga cameras and a twin lens reflex
with 120 roll film. We developed our film and printed in
the dark room. The final prints were about 15x15 inches
on cotton based paper. I used warm toned paper which
really gave it a nice effect. Then I scanned my neg's so
I can post them here and on my sites! It was shot
with the family antique cradle, my old bride doll
in an old cemetary. Yes, i cut my head off on purpose...

Kelly Moore is having a contest which ends tuesday~
Jan 6th, so if you don't mind, I would love your vote!

Waverly is 34 today...

My favorite niece and model came home 34 years ago tomorrow
in a soft, red stocking just
in time for Christmas! In spite
of obstacles in her childhood, Waverly has prevailed and grown

into a remarkable and capable young woman.
I'm sure you may recognize her from the many photos
I have of her on my site, always
willing to pose and help me out and
always with a sparkle in her eye.
I am so proud to be your aunt
and call you 'friend' and that we have gotten to know

each other over the past 34 years! May all the blessings you
deserve be yours today
and always. Love, Katherine

Santa spotted in Ft. Worth

Santa was a hit at the Poe's Senior Retirement Planners Annual
Christmas Party, yesterday at the Ft. Worth Petroleum Club! He
even grows his beard every year just in time for the holidays!

Snyder Plaza near SMU is always fun at Christmas time! The horse
drawn buggys roam through and the lights are fantastic!
I love walking around
after hours, snapping photos
of some of the prettiest store windows in town!

Lisa Luby's store, Vintage Home, has a great corner location in
this vintage building with the curved entry!

Sebastian's dress shop and the little store below which is a party
planning business, will have to get the name, were really fun!
Love the "French" look of Sebastian's little black dress in the window...

The HUGE full moon, is really something to see! I saw it the other
morning as I was walking before sun-up, and heard on the news
today, that it is closer to the Earth than it has been in a long time!
Check it out tonight!
Mister Tuxedo a stable fixture in this shopping center has the
neatest modern flair to their front door and displays!
And Dallas Music upstairs has this really neat light fixture
in the lobby that I had to snap a few of!

The Happiest Place on Earth...Historic Downtown McKinney-Dickens of a Christmas This weekend!

Dickens is this weekend, so everything is
ready for the holidays and lots of fun! Here is one of my favorite
stores on the square, 120, on Tennessee along with Plum Creek
just down on the corner, and of course, Chase Hall antiques!

Downtown McKinney, makes you feel like you stepped back in
time to a place you see in books! The remodeling of the streets and
sidewalks around the square are now complete, and the city has
really gone all out decorating with lights, trees and all kinds of
festive decorations!
